Spring has sprung

First off it has been brought to my attention by someone dear to me, that I have neglected my blog. hehehe
Thanks for the push.
Spring sprucing up is going on around here. I am in the middle of painting and decorating my daughters room, I must get the last coat on today, so I can be done with that.
We have torn apart our deck, as it was badly rotting in spots.
Soccer has begun and the second game is today. Baseball practices have also begun, so will be running wild, soon enough. Boy, then my blog will really get neglected. I love spring!
I took my first ever knitting class, so that I might have a portable craft for ball games. I love knitting already. I have completed a purse, all except for the handles. I intend to felt it and can't wait to see what it looks like after that process. I have been busy! Does that excuse my absence here?
Anyway.....
My ATC Collage group challenge this month, was to incorporate lots of texture.

Drahma is Done

Well I finished my mermaid and am quite pleased. I tried to capture all angles and show all her beauty, but it just isn't possible through pictures.

Now what to do with her? I would love to sell her, but how is the question. Ebay? Etsy?
Local store?

I will share as much of her as I can!

Pocket Purse Pal

I have another Pocket Purse Pal done and if I do say so, she is darling.
I took a knitting class last night and am hopeful I will become a world class knitter.
I am a bit frustrated as I am going along so fine and usually last stitch on the needle, somehow it slips off or something and I can't figure out how to fix it. So I tear off the whole bit I have done so far and begin again! Yikes I will never finish a scarf at that rate.

So here is the newest purse pal and clothes too!

Not Keeping Up!

Life is spinning faster than I can keep up these days. The community ed catalog came out and I want to take a bunch of classes. Is that a sign of old age? I just want to do it all and don't have time.
Anyway, I am pretty sure I am going to take a knitting class and a yarn spinning class.
How fun will that be? I looked at a quilt class and a felt class also but they will have to wait. There will be another time.
Other craziness around here includes the river being in major flood stages. I think it must be close to cresting today. They are predicting 37.5 feet. Unbelievable! I was to the neighbors home last night to look and I would be freaking out big time. I can't imagine having to worry about all that water getting into my home if the dike fails. I am praying for them!

On a crafty note, I am still playing with dolls and loving it. These little dolls I have made are fashioned after dolls I used to make as a little girl. Dad would get orders of scuba tanks for the business and the boxes had these pop outs that looked sort of like gingerbread men. I would gather them and draw faces and undergarments on them. Then I would create them a whole bunch of clothing. I remember spending hours on these and slipping into my own little doll world ; )
I gotta wonder if I have slipped back into that doll world now, I am having so much fun playing with them!
