Pencil Pals

I made a few cute pencil dolls as Easter Basket stuffers for my Etsy store. They make great puppets for little girls who like to put on puppet shows!

I am just so addicted to dolls right now. A friend said to me recently, "if it doesn't move, you will turn it into a doll!"

Also I am still beading away on that mermaid and she will soon be done!

Here are the pencil dolls.

Fabric Challenge

Well on both of my groups I have issued a fabric challenge and I have been enjoying working with different fabric projects.
I did a series of fabric Collage ATC's this weekend. I created a base of abstract fabric with fibers, lace, netting... and then assembled it into ATC's I think I had 10 in all.
I will load a few of my favorites here.

These are currently up for auction on Ebay

Where does time Go?

Here it is a couple weeks again since I have posted anything. I feel bad about that. It seems I just can't get enough time. I have found a new love.

Wool Felt and Fleece. It is so nice to touch and to work with. I bought some fleece and wool to make dolls, but I have been having fun doing some applique with the felt.

I have some fun doll idea's but haven't had the time to make the clay appendages. I will maybe work on that this weekend.

I made these cute Chatelaines to sell in my Etsy store. If you are a needleworker you would love these, for their practical or decorative use.

Don't rush your Muse

Well I hurriedly finished that collage this morning so I could submit it to the Challenge on a yahoo site and I guess my muse was not done. Every time I looked at it, I knew it needed more.

Finally, the muse told me, it needed the black pit around the twisted stomach mass.

So now I think it is done. I feel happier about it now. It feels complete.

By the way the dimensions of this piece are 14 x 11.

In the Pit of her Stomache

I have been playing around with my first canvas collage as you know from previous blog entries.
Well the deadline for submission to the 'hurt' challenge is tomorrow and I have just finished mine.
I am pretty happy with the outcome as it really took off on it's own.
When I first heard the theme 'hurt' my intention was to follow the idea of love hurts.
I had visions of a big heart and a black background.
Well while hunting through images, It just started to create it's self.
I had then thought it was going to be titled twisted pain, I shared this with my cousin who is having some medical problems and experiences much pain. She said, "maybe it is about me?"
Perhaps it is, I hate to see her in pain. But the collage continued to move forward on it's own.
I am not entirely sure why I felt the urge to plunk that big twisted button at the stomach area, except for that my MUSE directed me to.

The end collage has now been titled " In the Pit of her Stomache"

Yes I realize I spelled stomache with and E at the end.

The piece has lots of depth and texture. If you are a person who likes embellished art, this piece will make you want to touch it. I used acrylic paint and have adhered everything with high quality gel mediums.
I have collaged all the way around the edges of the canvas so that the staples are covered and not visible. It is ready to hang as is, or to frame if you choose. It is a very stable piece.

I plan to sell this piece on Etsy. Again if you are interested feel free to contact me.
Asking price = $40.00

Mermaid Magic

I am participating in a Mermaid bead a long, we were to post progress pictures on the 1st of March, so I have take a few to share here as well. It is so fun to take an empty form and to just jump in creating with no idea what will happen. In the beginning I was somewhat skeptical of the direction she was taking, but I am becoming more and more happy with her. It is like she is guiding me and telling me what she wants.
Also a few good friends purchased some of my mermaid forms and I know they will be glad to see what I am doing with mine : ) I am anxious to see what they do with theirs.
Hi Sanna! Hi Chels!
I have made some good progress on a collage and plan to finish it by this weekend.
Here is my mermaid, any suggestions for a fun mermaid name are welcome!
